June already, The Sun is shining
And Rachel has just got our holidays booked for the end of July… (Which doesn’t seem very far away at all!)
So things look lovely on the horizon….

What’s more I have my meet up this Saturday with a bunch of really great guys and girls coming along! – Actually – it may be too busy.. So I may have to write up an agenda and sort some form of presentation out! .. more work..lol
Then I have things like a meeting with John Thornhill to sort, a trip to the passport office, and preparations for a weekend away at the end of this month to meet up with more great marketers in Cheltenham at Matt Garretts meet up….

So why am I Lost and Confused?

Basically because in between all of that, I have emails to write, salespages to write, more freebies to finish, sites to build, other sites to finish, my blog to keep up with and find more useful content for, and the list goes on…..

What happened?
Simple – I did it again!
I took on too much work and have a list as long as my arm to get through, and that always seems to have the effect of making me suit and stare at the screen not knowing which has the highest priority?

The daft thing is - I see this happening to some of my friends, students and even my colleages ALL the time!
I coach people and tell them to FOCUS on one thing at a time until it’s done…. and then I fall victim to the same trap!

DUH – maybe I should listen to myself a little more?
So why share this?… Simply because I want my readers to know they are NOT the only ones it happens to!

It’s easy to think YOU are the only one struggling to get everything done!
Well you’re not! – It happens to all of us at some point. In fact when I was chatting to John Thornhill and Dave Nicholson a couple of days ago, they both told me how busy they were from having too much going on at once!. They even have a cool new product that they spent months developing.. that they haven’t even had time to promote themselves…lol
(By the way – that product is Affiliate Ad Rotator – a simple concept that a lot of sites could benefit from)

So yeah – even the people we hold in highest regard can take on too much at once!

As for myself, I think it just comes down to NOT wanting to turn away a great idea – OR the extra cash for that matter!, So when someone asks if I can build them a site for a large chunk of cash.. I say of course before I check my workload!. Then when another contact shows me a cool piece of software and asks if I’ll try it out in exchange for a free copy, I say naturally I will…. Then one partner asks for a little time to discuss an idea – and before you know it we have a whole new site structure mapped out and he starts building it!, Add to all that the sites I still haven’t finished as well as ongoing additions that all seem to get finished at the same time… and suddenly – You don’t know if you’re coming or going!!

I realise that for people yet to make a proper start – it’s a bit different.
In their case it would probably be some new shiny objects landing in their inbox that cause them to lose focus on what they were supposed to be working on.
That then leads to getting excited and moving their focus, spending hours, days and even weeks working on or learning something new, only to get distracted by the next super amazing gadget or software or ebook that hits them between the eyes!

So what are the lessons?
Well I guess I should say that we should all accept that these things happen… Let’s not beat ourselves up about it.. we are after all only human!
So it’s not worth saying – Focus on the one thing until it’s done! – as that just isn’t going to happen! (well it wouldn’t for me, as I know I need more than one thing done at any point in time), so I can hardly lecture anyone else!

So my honest advice would be to chill! Relax and step back from the situatuion for an hour or so. Weigh up what needs doing and what is most urgent – then create a list and start gradually working through it. Set yourself small acheivable goals and targets for each, and to quote myself “Keep Plodding Along!”

It’ll all come right in the end if you just keep chipping away at things
Yeah – I know … not the sort of advice I should be giving… but hey, I’m just being honest about how I sometimes have to approach these things

So here I am plodding along with too much happening to mention it all.
But fair warning – you can probably expect plenty of usual rambles this next few weeks of all sorts of new bits and pieces, new discoveries, and new tools and freebies I’ve been working on or helping with. And all of them being GREAT for some readers and of no use for others. Something else I’ve emphasised so many times… not everything is for everybody! – You have to take a look and see if it fits into your online plans!
A prime example is a brilliant site from a long time friend JP Schoeffel called Free T Gen, It’s a site that really is great, does exactly what it says it will – but is really only for those who know the importance of backlinks AND who have some sites already built that could benefit from the service! – for anyone just starting to build a site – it would just be another drain on resources that they could do without!
So it’s a site I would have loved to have promoted due to it being a real and valuable asset to many, but I suspect that most of my readers wouldn’t be in a position to benefit from it yet. Hence I’ve only sent a proper promo to a couple of close friends who I know might use the site. (That said – feel free to check it out quick before it’s full ,…. IF it’s something that could benefit you!)

OK – I went off on one there didn’t I? (See how easy it is…lol)
But seriously – If I know something is good, I do tend to want to mention it – even though I know I wont make any money from doing so! I guess it keeps my conscience happy that I tried to point people in the right direction. (or should I just be promoting offers that make heaps of commissions regardless of whether I believe they are of real use to my readers?… I’d love your comments on that question – even though I suspect you’ll tell me not to go down that route! But it is good for my own belief that I’m doing right by my readers to have it confirmed!)
Other thinsg I should mention are Antons new software that I don’t have an affiliate link for – but hey.. he’s a great guys I’ve partnered up with in the past and has a wso on his software here
Nope – it’s not an affiliate link, but it does look like it’s gonna be a cool piece of kit for people to use!

Meanwhile – I know Terry has been hard at it behind the scenes of our new site at NiceMarketPLR which I can’t wait to do a video about over the weekend! (this is another one that I should have done more work on myself – but it got neglected while I was doing other stuff…. Yikes – finger out time we wanted to launch this in a couple of weeks!)

I have been doing a lot of video tutorials for IMA tools that we’ve either already added or are just waiting on final graphics for.. so do keep an eye out for those! (or better still – get along and take a trial so you can see for yourself without having to wait for me to announce stuff…lol)

OOPS – I’ve just realised this has turned into a mega ramble instead of a cacth up!
So here goes for a quick round up….

Saturday is my Northallerton Meet Up and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone, oh, I already mentioned that…lol
Yeah – time to go I think… I’m getting senial and repeating myself…lol
OH – I remember, some have asked if I have any big names attending… well I can now say yes I have. But I’m not mentioning them, as I wanted people who want to meet people to come… NOT just a bunch of folks wanting to pester the life of my big name friends! .. This will be a quick catch up, as I couldn’t be bothered to make seperate headings…lol
I have a poorly child and a poorly Rachel in my flat at the mo – so my attention span is limited…lol

Re catching up.
The software I’d hoped to be giving you free by today has been delayed by at least another day!
It works fine – but as ever there are more pages and video instructions to sort.
Especially as it was initially going to be for members of InternetMarketingApprentice only to make life eaier for when they start an online business and want top cloak their links etc.

That I thoyught it was about time I took a breather and had a giggle… so..

I thought I’d make a quick post to see how many marketing Lessons we COULD learn from everyday life
So here are some everyday pictures that were emailed to me, and the lessons I’ve tried to attach to each….lol

As you scroll down – I hope you get a smile or two
(and I’m NOT trying to offend anyone, so please… take them with the pinch of salt they are served with)

Let’s start with Lesson 1 and see how far we get

1 – PLANNING!

One should always consider ones plan of action before undertaking a new venture!

Unlike the signage planners at this hospital:

2 – TAKE Your TIME!

Don’t rush to get your sites online if your products aren’t finished!, Far better to take your time as advertised by Republic Memorials .. People would rather WAIT than see you rushing to launch a bad product!

3 – NAMING Your Site!

Yet another thing NOT to rush into, Do try and get your keyword into your site name, But at the very least… ask a few friends how your name looks and sounds!
And you might give a thought to the web being world wide – so you want something everyone will see as a great name!

4 – Keep it RIGHT with google etc.

It’s always best to give google what they want, so add good content to stay on the RIGHT side of the search engines!

5 – Decide on your working hours

Don’t try adding content or installing scripts when you’re tired or otherwise unable to think about what you’re doing properly! Set aside a time for everything

6 – Don’t take on the Impossible

You should only tackle tasks you have full confidence of finishing. Otherwise it might pay to get more training before jumping in!

7 – Use Original Content

Stealing someone else’s content is the same as entering their property and taking their stuff… It’s wrong and you wont get ranked highly for it… Think of it as TRESPASSING .. don’t do it!

Besides – it’s always said Better SAFE than sorry as far as your content is concerned! (you wouldn’t want to SICKEN anyone)

8 – Think About Your Pricing!

You wouldn’t want to become one of those people who have a reputation for OVERCHARGING or Having SPECIAL OFFERS that don’t seem that special to your subscribers!

9 – Don’t fall for the Cash Cow Sites!

Stop believing money will RAIN down on you with those Cash COW sites … build a real business – or you might just make it RAIN COWS!

10 – Obey Rules (Laws even apply to websites)
Some laws are there to protect you!

So make sure your site is fully compliant with all the FTC rulings!.. In other words – whatever you have – Make Sure You are Fully COVERED!

And take heed of any warnings!

11 – Take Care of your Passwords!

Be sure to keep passwords in a safe place, after all – you wouldn’t want just anyone getting hold of them… A lot like your kids – You should never let your passwords out of your sight!

Who knows what people might do to your sites (or kids) if you left them for just anyone to mess with!!

12 – Expect the UNEXPECTED!

Things don’t always go the way we’d like them to – so always expect the unexpected and be PREPARED for it!

13 – Don’t go it Alone .. Outsource

Once you’ve started having some success =- be sure to outsource to a professional to get things done right and quicker… It beats getting confused on certain tasks and making a mess of it!

14 – Don’t Make A fool Of Yourself!

Above all else – get the right help at the right time from the right people. The last thing you want is to monkey around and make yourself look like … a monkey?

So there you have it.. Valuable lessons (I hope) to help you in your online adventures

OK – this IS a promotion
But it is one you may want to look at!

OH – being sidetracked for a second… How many of us got a promo for the best thing since slided bread re ads on facebook for FREE…
ONLY to get another email telling us to ask for a refund cos the promoter only just had chance to go through it and discover it’ll be outdated in 4 days time?
STRANGE how I got that same email from 3 different marketers – telling me how sorry they were for promoting it and if only they’d checked it out first…!!

THEN 24 hours later I get another one saying it’s OK – as the product created who launched it will be sorting some updates to make it relevant again!

For crying out loud – WHY LAUNCH if you know it’ll be out of date in a week?? .. (oh yeah – cos you put a lot of effort into creating it and need a return on investment.. sorry never thought about that… I just figured you’d scrap a product that was no longer working and start over… Shows how NON Guru I am… Far better to launch and take peoples money, then you can pay for it to be sorted hopefully in the future!!)

Ooops.. let’s get back to the cool product!
So this promo came about because I’d seen so many people now telling me that we should all be taking advantage of Amazon!

The thing is – the promos I’d seen all showed a very quick video on how easy it is to add an ebook to Amazon via their Kindle or even Create Sapce sites.
Then they went on to offer to sell me hundreds of PLR articles and eboks I could upload (SO QUICKLY AND EASILY)!

Well on searching – I couldn’t find the ones they added or any sales etc.
So I looked more into it as it is something I have been meaning to do for a while. (I say I – I actually mean Rachel… but I know she’d want my help) we have some non IM ebooks that we think would do well on both Kindle and Create Space!

ANYWAY – long story short…
It would seem that there is a little more to it than just “Whacking” an ebook up on the sites!

There is a whole STEP by STEP procedure that needs to be followed to get it all uploaded correctly and available for people to buy!

THANKFULLY – I happened across a lady who works for someone I know very well. She accidentally let slip she was in the process of uploading some of this marketers products to Kindle for him. So when I spoke to the guy concerned he said it was true... nothing dodgy, just part of his plan this year and something I’m sure he’ll create a product on at some point…

Meanwhile – I figured this was a great chance to get a head start for both myself and my readers!
So rather than wait for him to create a product on how he outsourced adding products to kindle, I asked if the lady (Val by the way) had a guide we could all follow?

She did, but it wasn’t really for sale… However, after I asked her for a review copy and went through it (Again I should point out I read it to check it was easy enoyugh for Rachel to follow) she immediately uploaded it to a site so I could write her a testimonial and mention it to you ….lol
talk about taking action… haha

So without further ado, I happily recommend that IF you have thought about the advantages of having some of Amazons traffic to your eboks – or the benefits of being a published author…

Then you may want to take a quick look at Val’s product!
Especially as she has it uploaded as a two for one offer just now!
So you get both the instructions for Kindle AND for Create Space for the price of one!

Definitely worth buying and definitely worth following through on before all the gurus get their online and sell us a high priced course on how to do it!
And definitely worth grabbing as a proper step by step guide rather than just a quick mention in order to sell us some of their PLR!

* VSL Still Delayed – But IMA is A GO

Yep … How frustrating for me…
I actually have emails from people asking me when they can buy it!
BUT I still haven’t finished the pages enough to let them be seen yet

I nearly got there – then realised I had some products I wanted to add as extra unadvertised bonuses..
So I added the graphics – but now need to add them to the Autoresponder etc.
Then I saw the complete product (which I have as a complete download) I also added as a view online option….
Those videos all open in a new page, and there are 10 short videos, so each of those pages needs editing…

Sure the money was mentioned later on, but the big thing for me was that John went into a lot of detail about the product and how it would benefit my readers.

Whereas the BIG guys in the other example didn’t even give a proper explanation of what the product is?
And yet they have a list of EVERY BIG name on the net already committed to promoting for the big prizes and recognition etc.

I’m glad to be a minnow at times!

(Written last night)
How are you this freezing Cold Sunday evening?
Yep – it’s 7pm as I start writing this and it’s started freezing again in here in the UK!
I only managed to use my car for the first time in a week yesterday…lol

In case you didn’t know we’re snowed in As as usually happens when we get a bit of snow – The UK grinds to a halt …lol
That said it has been bad here (especially up North)

In Fact – My Saturday meet up was the first time in 3 years that NO One made it!
Not to worry – I have plenty to be getting on with…lol

I’m actually working more hours oonline than I ever have I think??
My usual 2 – 3 hours a day has doubled and I’m feeling it!

(Don’t laugh, I really am not used to it….. On a serious note I’m very grateful that I do it through choice and not because I have to. I do need to get my income levels back up, but I still get to choose when and for how long I work)

So I’ve been working away at my VideoSalesLetter Project, AND at the same time I’ve been adding more and more content (along with new partner Craig) to the BIG site I mentioned briefly in the past few weeks.

I won’t tell you what it is yet, but I do mention it twice in the mp3 I have for you today (See Below)

Anyway – speaking of today, I’m writing late in the day because Rachel had me up all night….
Decorating her lounge!!
Yeah – nothing rude...(tut tut) lol – We wallpapered her lounge from 10pm last noght til 7.30am this morning… So after that I had a lazy morning recovering from no sleep

Anyways – in other news, I’m still struggling to find products to recommend, and I see most the big guys are still using the same launch pattern of upsell after upsell after upsell
Crikey – they must have to raise some mega cash for Christmas…

They remind me of the mega Christmas toy of a few years ago -
Buzz Lightyear!
Cos they’re offers go “To Infinity And Beyond!” hehe,… Sadly – Yet again I have to announce another product I’m NOT buying!
(I’m glad I made mention of FreeMonthlyWebsites last week, I really do need to find more good stuff like that site to recommend and get an affiliate commissions up… But I insist on still only recommending stuff I’d pitch to family!)

This one seems to follow the pattern!
It’s a big affiliate marketplace, Starting with what you do with a mouse, followed by where you no longer like keeping your cash…
Then what’s standing still on UK roads and the last word is a old word for soldier,
EDIT: – After sending this to my list I had an eamil asking me what all the cryptic clues related to…. It seems I didn’t think it through properly in world wide terms!
So mouse is point and C—K, the money clue was B–K, Standing still on UK roads T—–C, and another term for soldiers of old W—–R.
I hope that makes it more understandable

Anyway – I guess you can gather I’m not recommending you buy
