Hi Everyone
Not much of a catch up this week as I’ve had a lot of time off dealing with some family ‘stuff’
I’m so glad I’m an internet marketer and can take time out whenever I feel like it

I’ve got my meet up this Saturday, and a few bits to catch up on myself over the next couple of days, and then next weke I should be back into full swing

One thing I did notice while working less – was how often I would check into facebook from my iPhone!
Even with them constantly changing things – It does seem like the site isn’t going anywhere… So I’ve prepared an article to hopefully help anyone who has yet to increase their exposure on facebook.

* Facebook Resources That Are VERY Handy

OK – so we’ve all heard of facebook, and hopefully most of us have a profile for ourselves?
Mine is http://www.facebook.com/RandolfSmith

Personal profiles are where everyone starts, and to a degree you can post links as well as the usual jokes and funny pics and videos – which all lead to more exposure of your profile and hence your sites (provided you’ve added them to your profile)….
BUT – if you want to get more and more links and visits back to your sites from Facebook – then you’ll find using some tools and getting some like pages built can really help.
I have various like pages for different sites that I promote (not all finished yet ) so to give you some ideas here are mine:
Randy Smith page – a personal page promoting me and anything I want to link to
Northallerton Meet Up page – just promoting my monthly meet ups
WizardWebServices page – for my offline local service promotions
Internet Marketing Apprentice page – set up initially to promote IMA
KrystalsCraftCorner Community page – a page for Rachel to eventually sell her craft items

So as you can see – you can build pages for all sorts of opportunitys.
How – you might ask…..lol
Well I’ve used a range of tools to get mine built….
For my own page I used John Thornhill & Dave Nicholsons ‘Like Page Builder‘ – which is one of the easiest tools I’ve used due to their step by step videos
(they also have the pages hosted on a secure server with an SSL certificate – so there are no challenges with favebook showing the page since their last rule changes!)

I got a little more complex with the WizardWebServices one – as I own an SSL certificate for that domain…. But what a chew on that is! Getting the ceretificate is one thing, invloving a cost and a few emails back and forth, and then understanding all the techy aspects was enough to put me off doing that again… haha
Craig my partner in IMA sorted the IMA one, so I’m not sure how he went about that. And the Northallerton Meet Up Page was a gift from the lovely Sally Neill – who used a program she pays for monthly at a higher rate than Like Page Builder.- I like the wso pricing for the pro version of like page builder – as it includes a developer license as well as the SSL, so you could even build these for other people and charge for the service

The one for Rachel was totally unique, in that she wanted her page to do so much more in the future, so I used a blog theme that also reduces the pages to facebook and mobile sizes, then I needed to find a way to get past the SSL certification and have facebook show the page!
That was a challenge easily met by using a free service that I found on facebook!
Social Server have a page you can go to on facebook, like it and add your name and email to use their FREE adapter!
This then allows you to add your non-secure page into their system and they give you a secure link that shows your pages on facebook!

This was a great find for doing Rachels pages, as it meant I could add any content she wanted to her blog, and then onto the facebook page by using social server to adapt it into a secure page!
So once she has some better photos, she’ll be able to actually list items for sale on facebook … but do so on her like page and community, thereby getting others who visit to share the links and attract even more traffic for her.

And at the end of the day – if we’re in business online – we do want to use facebook for traffic don’t we?… It’s not just for fun videos and pictures, or letting people know what the weather is like in our part of the world…lol
In fact – with new software coming out all the time, it’s getting easier to run a business and have facebook as a major part of the traffic generation, tools like reward/reveal widgets and like page builders, as well as other sites that link our posts from blogs and twitter to facebook walls too (I covered that in an earlier post with a video for twitterfeed), mean we can even make a full time living helping local business as well as building our own sites.

Before long if you do start seeing results from facebook, you may well want to consider social media marketing as a serious part of your online efforts. That could even lead to using other services both on and off facebook.

I’ve seen people go to fiverr and pay for a certain number of ‘likes’ or ‘comments’ on their pages. Which can help you look more professional but doesn’t really bring in hoards of traffic.
Other avenues to consider are facebook advertising, which unlike the big G, can still be bought very very cheaply.
This would get you real and targeted visitors to your pages, and many people use these ads to drive traffic that is highly targeted yet inexpensive to pages or offers they have on their facebook like pages!
I have to admit it’s something I’ve discussed with people doing it, but not yet tried myself due to a bad experience with Google ads once, where I went way over budget in a matter of just a couple of hours…lol – That said in the past year alone the amount of active users of facebook has shot up to over 700 million, generating over 100 BILLION hits per day!
With at least 50% of these users logging in on a daily basis. Therefore it’s obvious that there is a huge amount of traffic available using Facebook Ads!
Although if I was going to be building and managing more sites for local small business as well as my own, I might well consider using a broker who could guide me in the right direction and make sure I didn’t spend more than I budgeted for. – Especially with so many small businesses now using facebook for business,  It’s something I believe we’ll all need to check out at some point.

And from figures I’ve had shared with me by people using facebook for business, It does seem to be the easiest way to get some guaranteed traffic to your facebook pages and offers.
Even simple ads saying things along the lines of - “If you love babies – click like” seem to get a very targeted response from young mums liking and thereby sharing the page with their lists of friends – who in turn pop along to check what their friend has liked and see all the goodies on offer!
Another method would be using a like/reward feature, where the new prospect clicks like and then automatically adds a post to their wall saying something along the line of “I just got a great freebie from xyz site” – this allows them to get the freebie, cost you just one advert – but potentially goes viral as more and more of their friends visit to grab the freebie!

So feel free to take another look at facebook and ‘like’ pages, and do consider using facebook ads if you have a good broker or resource to refer to, as it’s certainly getting me more and more traffic from my own efforts and I still have more methods to implement yet!

Hello again to a belated post… Yep I intended getting this up a few days ago!
Thank goodness I’m in charge of what and when I do what I do…lol

So – quick catch up before we get into the Competition stuff

The Free Wordpress Themes have been really popular, So I’m repeating the details again for those who were thinking about using them…. SERIOUSLY – Use them to build your list and as gifts for giveaways you join through the easy to use PBG site!!!

My Saturday meet up was cancelled due to the weather being so flipping fantastic (IN OCTOBER!!!!). Everyone stayed home to either get stuff done or have some family time!
Rachel and I took her girls and the new addition (Zeta) to Osmotherly for the day complete with picnic, and walked around the reservoir.

Anyways – Work wise, I’ve been addicted to buying up heaps of WSO’s from the warrior forum as every man and his dog now seems to be promoting each and every WSO as the best thing since sliced bread!!… and some are good – but I have noticed that although the prices are cheap – there is a lot of stuff that I have added to the folder – “One Day when I get time”!!!. So that seems to go against the advice I always give about buying stuff…lol
I did pick up a few bits that are helping with my offline site, so it’s not all bad

Then yesterday I drove up to see John Thornhill, for a catch up and meeting about the partnership to success program I help him with.
(that is really having some positive results for his new ‘partners’, so if you have a large chunk of change and want to know more about guaranteeing your success in building a solid and profitable business – feel free to send me a support ticket with your phone number. I seem to have left it for a couple of weeks AGAIN!
OK, I reckon I have a good excuse for not posting….. I’ve not had a lot to mention…haha

Seriously – I’ve not seen anything being promoted that I wanted to pass on.
Well possibly – but others were offering better bonuses than I could put together, so I left them to it…lol
And anything else just hasn’t been worth promoting in my opinion!

Plus I’ve been beavering away on my own ‘local’ sites, to offer Web Services to businesses in my own town, Along with  Northallerton Ads Business Directory , I’ve also been building a web services site, (I know – I mentioned it two weeks ago, and yes, I’m still getting my head around all the pages and options in the theme I’m using!)

Whilce I’ve been working away on that, I have seen a good number of new subscribers come in via Push Button giveaways,  And ALL I did was push a few buttons just like the site says http://www.randolfsmith.com/likes/PBG2
So that will always get a permanent mention to anyone looking to add to their list size!
I’ve also had some commissions coming in from Keiths latest offering – the Super Affiliate Page software I did the video tour of last time (check the post prior to this one if you’d like to see inside), and
Video Sales Letters ABC has been steadily bringing in new customers.

So all in all it’s been productive couple of weeks even though I’ve been busy working on other sites.

I’ve finally got around to posting again due to seening two opposites in my inbox these last few days!

On the one hand – I have seen a couple of bargain offers that will surely help (and bought these myself), and on the other I’ve seen yet more ‘actors’ with heaps of cash trying to convince us that we can push a button or two to make big bucks!

So I figured I’d have my ‘Ramble’ about these below….lol

* CB’s New Ethical rules… Right

Well here we go!
I’m sure most people have seen clcikbanks new rules to supposedly stop the scammers and con men taking our cash?
You can read them here:

Well after seeing a few big names promting this offer, I began to wonder so I checked them myself.
Particularly the parts about:
“We Will NOT Allow: Videos that portray or reference a fictionalized individual or life story, where a vendor makes false claims as part of the product pitch.”

And this part:
“We Will Allow: Videos and testimonials containing actors telling the vendor’s actual experience/story (either 1^st or 3^rd person).  Must use a disclaimer that the person in the video is an actor representing the vendor’s actual experience.”

So Without having bought the product and without prejudice to whether it’s a good or bad product….. I’m curios!!!!!!!!!!!

WHERE on these pages does it say this guy is an actor?
The first site ISN’T on CB, it’s on plimus (which is an alternate provider that a lot of banned suites went to after being kicked off CB)

The thing that struck me was that ‘Martin’ was on both pages – and yet he isn’t the product created according to google – it is a couple of other guys!

Hence my question about CB’s new rules?
It might just be that I’ve misinterpreted them, it might be that the product is great, I’m not giving an opinion on it – I’m just wondering if everyone else thinks it looks the same as the ones they were complaining about???

* Emails For You…. A 1st for me!

Let me explain the 1st for me part first…lol
So far – I’ve avoided promoting things on the warrior forum.
Here’s my logic – 1 – people are losing paypal accounts when something goes wrong, and 2 – I really do begrude PAYING to be an affiliate and promote someone elses product! 3 – I genuinely feel this will (if it hasn’t already) lead to people promoting anything just to recover their monthly subscription – instead of just promoting what they believe will help their subscribers!

There – that’s my tuppence worth on that!

So with that being said – I have just paid my dues to tell you about a product I’ve bought just this morning! – BECAUSE I REALLY DO feel it will be a great help to many of my readers!

I paid my subscription – then waited and waited for the email to confirm it…. I tried to access my account but it tells me I need the subscription key in the email…. tch.
Waiting – waiting- waiting!

Finally after half an hour (which felt more like 2 hours…lol – the email arrives….)

Well it looks as though I still haven’t got used to being back at work…lol
The weekend and meet up came and went, and suddenly it’s Tuesday already?? What happened to Sunday & Monday?? lol

Being perfectly honest, I have kept busy, but it’s all been maintainance and site building mainly. I still have some sites that I’ve never rebuilt since last Octobers hacking incident, so I’ve been messing around rebuilding those.
Naturally I’ve also been catching up on my usual forum visits and comments to see what I’ve missed while I was away, and I’ve also enjoyed a couple of late mornings too…. just to help with getting back into normal routines…hehe

The funny is – that the site started out as such a simple idea and concept – but with it being such a fantastically simple to use piece of coding, it would seem a shame not to make it an all round major resource for anyone wanting a easy way to start getting sites online and making some money! … especially when so many programs get launched that don’t do as they say they will!

As for promoting any of the biggies this week – I still haven’t had time to go through the ones I’ve been given access to, and besides, I can’t match the bonuses of other marketers who I speak highly off – so chances are you’re on their lists and can see what they think of them

At the last minute I did have a few regulars book a ticket and turn up for the meet up. (I thought it was just going to be two of us…lol)
The rain came down heavily and even stopped Bev’s train a mile away from town!, but we did all get there in the end.

SO – having blatantly asked those in attendance whether we should continue as we are, or whether they would prefer to pay more and have a bigger event in John’s Sunderland offices…
The consensus was that we should continue with the Northallerton ones.

It was unanimous that people preferred the friendly chatting style with an occassional presentation on topics they can ask to be covered, rather than a planned structured day or weekend. And they also preferred to keep the price down at the £25 level rather than pay around £97 for something more formal.

So who am I to argue?.. if everyone feels they’re getting value and are building better friendships with other marketers, then I see no reason not to continue.

Hence next months meet up is now taking bookings. There is a limit to how many can attend, so if you get a sold out page – just be sure to book early next time. (by all means email me and I’ll let you know if anyone pulls out and frees up a space)
