An action packed Ramble for you today…
Has it really been a couple of weeks since my last post?..
Crikey! – shows how busy we all get….lol
But hey – I have to admit to being busy with both
online work AND offline socialising
Well I do keep telling you:
Life = Live it, Love it and Pass on the Passion!
And hey – I’m serious….
What’s the point in anything if everything is either
boring or a chore?
I agree we all have our chores to do – but surely they
should be leading to more fun!
Oh and before I get on – a quick thanks for all the
emails and feedback about the pictures I’ve been including.
I’ve found a few more that I’m including today – not all sweet,
but you’ll see why I included them for each section.
Anyway – on with the marketing Ramble…
=======
* No Butterflies from me!
First Image: Credit to www.Despair.com

I’ve added that image as it perfectly covers my next comments.
You’ll undoubtedly be getting emails already telling you
about Mike Filsaime’s latest greatest must have….
In fact – you get it all free (or so they say!)
Well from what I’ve discovered, it probably is a great deal IF
If you really want and need Butterfly Marketing, and are willing
to enter into yet another forced continuity subscription for a
magazine costing $40 a month (credit card only- no paypal).
If I seem a little off’ish – that’ll be due to the number of
forum posts I’ve seen from people UNsuccessfully trying to
cancel their subscriptions from last time he did a similar promo.
That said – just because it goes against my principles - I know
Mike Filsaime will be pitching it ethically.
And straight away I would say if you get an email like one I had
where the marketer concerned just said
“click here to claim a gift”
Then lo and behold I’d been cookie stuffed so he could win a prize!!!
I would be sure to delete any cookies before I opted into anything!
(I personally thought it rather devious!)
On the other hand – John Thornhill over at planetsmsblog.com has
clearly stated he will be promoting it – but I would bet my bottom dollar
it will be a useful and value added post in which he does.
So – as suggested in the image…
If you want to check out the butterflies – pop over to John’s blog,
or see what bonuses others are offering and choose wisely.
DON’T – get cookie stuffed by trickery!
Rant Over …lol
—
EDIT:
After sending out the above to my list – I received an email from
Mike Filsaimes Office – so in the spirit of fair play I thought I’d
include it here publically:
Start:
Wow. Randy. a blow to my heart.
Anyone who wants to cancel their newsletter subscription
can easily go to www.cancelmetoday.com go there yourself
and see how easy it is.
If anyone has problems with a MF product or service they can
go to www.thecustomerhelpdesk.com
In addition MF has his office phone # on the newsletter and on
all his reply emails so you can call and get one on one help.
We employ over a dozen people in our support staff and in
comparison to most other big marketers we have damn good
customer service.
I’m confident that our staff does an excellent job at helping customers.
So I don’t think there is a need for the mocking image. ![]()
End
—
To that I would add that if the issue is with the image – What I meant
by the image was that I was sending My readers and subscribers to
John Thorhills Blog, as he would be better placed than i to advise
about using the Butterfly script.
I was in no way suggesting that MF should send his customers elsewhere!
His products are all good quality products, my rant was aimed at the tactics
employed by some of his affiliates!
I hope that has cleared that up
=====
* Great New PopUp Thingy
OK, Here’s one I am happy to help promote!
In a hurry:
(BIG discount only shows on the payment page! -
see below for details)
If you’re anything like me, we know and understand the
importance of building our lists…. BUT
I can only speak for myself here when I say – I do get annoyed at
many of the various pop up type scripts I come across.
Well, they always seem to pop in just when I’m trying to read
the salespage and make me lose my place.
So much so that I often close them just to continue reading and
that marketer missed their chance to get me to join their list!
Are you the same to any degree?
Well let me show you Graham’s new one.
It’s called the “Ultimate Footer Ad” and it’s more than just a pop up!
It can be used as an optin box or a clickable ad…
Rather than try and explain it all, I’ll just say that due to having
met Graham in person and keeping in touch, I was asked to take a look.
Here’s what I sent him back as feedback:
Hi Graham,
I thought you’d appreciate my feedback on Ultimate Footer Ad.
First off – I’m impressed that I was able to use it…lol
I know that sounds daft – but I do keep telling people I hate
techy stuff, and I really do, I’m hopeless at times…lol.
In terms of my first thoughts and reactions after seeing
it installed:
I like the look of it. The way it slides up and catches
the eye and then the animated graphics drawing the eyes
for a closer look…. I love that!
I also tested the optin box – which works fine with the
optin form code for my autoresponder Wizard Responder
After seeing the confirm page open in a new window which
again was very pleasing not drawing visitors away from my site!
And a nice touch with the optin changing to a thank you
message – that was cool What I like best is that it’s at
the bottom of the page so it does not stop people from
reading my content and even going back to where they
were after seeing the ad.
Having the choice to close it if they wish, – I’m sure
even die hard folks against pop ups would find that
unobtrusive!
I think that has to be one of the best points and why
people should use UFA. Unlike so many pop up’s /overs/flyin’s,
UFA really is unobtrusive – but at the same time it does
exactly what it’s supposed to do – draw the eyes of the
reader and increase optins and clicks of the ad shown!
So yeah – great job Graham… I can see me using it on
all my sites at some point – it’s definitely my favourite
form of pop up type ad now…
That also goes for Pete, my techy partner, who has already
told me he will be buying the second you launch!
Thanks for the opportunity to test UFA Graham, and for
coming up with a quality method of unobtrusive advertising.
Randolf Smith

===
So as you can see I was impressed.
Here’s the deal:
If you go to the UFA salespage – it’s selling for $47
A fair price for something that can and will make you more ca$h.
However – another advantage of knowing people is getting better
deals for my readers.
So I invite you to take a look at the UFA in action both here, on my blog
and on Grahams page where there’s a video showing how easy it is to
make the ads.
(BTW – It also works perfectly with the form code from
http://www.WizardResponder.com – which I’m thrilled about naturally)
And that link is to a special discount that only shows
on the paypal page!
(BIG discount) for one week only !
Summary:
I love it and I think you will to -
especially at the discounted price!
www.ultimatefooterad.com
So don’t leave it to come back to, have a look, and if you
could use it – grab it while it’s a bargain.
OH and here’s another image:
This one made me think of Graham and his UFA
He jumped on the back of something we all need – but all find
annoying and turned it into something useful, marketable and helpful.
The sign of true Entrepreneurship – so here’s a picture
about Entrepreneurism

LOL

* An Obituary printed in the London Times
(This was sent to me by Clive who’s ebook I promoted last time:
Link in case you missed it:-I thought it apt in todays world…lol)
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who
has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was,
since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.
He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
Knowing when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the
worm; Life isn’t always fair; and maybe it was my fault.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more
than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in
charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but
overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy
charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended
from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for
reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the
job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly
children. It declined even further when schools were required to get
parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student;
but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted
to have an abortion.
Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses;
and criminals received better treatment than their victims.
Common Sense took a beating when you couldn’t defend yourself from a
burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.
Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to
realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in
her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death by his
parents Truth and Trust, by his wife Discretion his
daughter, Responsibility, and his son Reason.
He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers;
1.)Â I Know My Rights.
2.)Â I Want It Now.
3.)Â Someone Else Is To Blame.
4.)Â I’m A Victim.
Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.
If you still remember him, pass this on.
If not, join the majority and do nothing.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy
enough people to make it worth the effort.
=====
* Round Up
Well that’s me about done for today
Before I go I did want to mention that my WizardResponder partner,
Pete, has been working his fingers off getting some really exciting
updates to our autoresponder service installed.
So much so that we will be moving to version 2.0 once all the pieces
are fully tested and in place.
However – it’s caused him so much stress that I found an image I
thought might remind him that things could be worse:

Hehe – just a bit of fun.
At least nothing has broke – but some of the stuff he’s making WizardResponder
capable of in the next version deserve a major price increase…
And I’ve already told him we should keep it at less than half the competition
because people like it that way…. so no pay rise for Pete
—-
Also – I’m working frantically with another old friend and subscriber on
completing testing and writing up a report of a new system to get
your products in front of people, downloaded onto their desktop,
and get them clicking your links to make you more ca$h and
build your lists.
I still think it’s weeks, not days away – but when it’s released it’s gonna be big!
(Well it might be small if we avaoid filler) -
I mean big in terms of helping people and levelling the field even more…
So do keep your eyes open for ‘The Guru Bypass System’
coming to an inbox near you soon!
I’ve already told Anton (who’s concept we’ve developed) that
I will be wanting to put a great pre-launch deal in my email,
as it seems only right and proper to look after the people who
look after me… so you will be getting a fantastic deal of a
fantastic product once it’s done if you’re a subscriber!
So my final image today is for Anton (& Pete)…lol
Who was desperate to release right away – until he partnered up with me
and I insisted we test his amazing system in all markets, and add more
and more easy to follow details so even a technophobe like me can’t get lost….
Here the image….

On that note I’m off…
Catch ya next time

I’ve really enjoyed this post Randy, and can hardly wait for your JV with Anton – the Guru Bypass System is definitely one I will buy!!
Thanks for the promo on the Graham Cox STOP – Special Offer Footer too. I’m short of Moolah till I persuade Clickbank to refund me for a daft Pie In The Sky program I bought a few days ago, but I’ll be after this Footer as it’s so easy to meet on a page – I hate all these darned right IN-YOUR-FACE pop ins and sliders, especially the ones that think you’re leaving when you’re maybe just swiping the page for ideas later, or even just scrolling!!!
Actually I found Mike’s reply of interest too as I wasn’t aware of the
http://www.cancelmetoday.com site. As Omar seems to be working for Mike now, and Mike’s main product has been so useful to so so many others I do have time for him, and was worried when he seemed to be in the doldrums and just regurgitated old stuff.
It must be difficult to be inspiring for ever!! Reminds me of an article I saw on Composers and their initial surge of inspiration – fading as the years go by!!
Glad to hear the note of optimism regarding private life, it does have to take some priority!! I’m using that as a large part of my recent goal setting as Jean and I will be too old to drive around the English Coast if I don’t shorten the time frame!!!!
Keep it up – see you in More-Monthly
John
Hi John,
Glad I could help by posting the email from MF’s office.
I do think there was some confusion on the image…lol
But if it’s helped – then it was worth it
Randy
Hi Randy,
Great post once again, always good stuff from your ramblings.
I took it the image issue was the picture linked in with text. I personally have never had to use Mike’s CS so can’t comment on that. I do know others are awful, in fact, I have dumped off the list of two in the last year due to very poor/none existent CS.
As for forced continuity as long as it is ethically done as Mike does no problem for those that want it, it’s not for me.
I particularly like the stress reduction kit, should be a good seller
yeah – I think that must have been it John.
Though my comment was meant to say that I was trying to offer good CS by sending people to JT’s blog…lol
And yeah – Mike does make it clear on his offers that it’s an ongoing subscription… I did think his page last time around was very upfront and ethical.
Randy
Another great post… I’m sure it’s only considered ramblings if you end up skipping the text but I ended up reading every word…
I’m looking forward to The Guru Bypass System as well.
Regards,
Karl
Cheers for the Pics Randy!
I have already worn out the “Bang head Here” One!!
Still… There maybe light at the end of the tunnel… Mind U… It could be just a reflection…LOL!
Cool Post mate
I agree with you about annoying pop-ups, and flyovers. They were fun to start with ( a few years ago), and sometimes you just can’t stop them, so the footer idea is much better, but still a bit big, although it doesn’t obstruct the reader and is easy to banish. My other pet peeve is the automatic sales assistants, although it can be fun typing insults, because they never get it
)
ciao jj
@ Karl – wow someone other than my Mother actually read it all!!!!…..lol
@ Pete – it could be the train again!…
@ JJ – I did the same with VSA’s myself for a while, then I got bored of doing it – they have no sense of humour.
What I did find though – was that now I have to check every salespage twice! – Once to read it , then again after I try closing it Just to see if I get offered a discount!
Randy
Hi Randy,
Just found your blog through your testimonial at Graham Cox’s sales page.
So far I really like your blogging style and your opinion on things.
I joined an earlier offer from MF with the magazine continuity. My problem was not with unsubscribing, but with receiving the magazine before the 30 day free period came to and end.
Being the nice person that I am, I want to give things a try before unsubscribing. This initial late delivery, combined with an upcoming vacation month, caused me to be paying for the magazine 2-3 months before I got around to unsubscribe.
I live in Norway. I think we are a civilized country with a relatively well functioning postal service. Nevertheless, the last year or so I’ve been involved in 3 or 4 forced continuities with magazines from different marketers, none of them arriving during the free month. Some, if not all, of those marketers I also think charged a few extra bucks for international delivery.
Is this something anyone else experiences regularly, or is it just me?
As for the “Bang Head Here”, I think you should advice people to print it out. Otherwise their screens may end up very greasy.
Oh, those VSAs. When I visit a sales page and decides that the offer is not for me, then meet a VSA on my way to leave, it somehow functions to me as a confirmation that my decision was the right one.
Have a nice day!
Oscar Toft
Hi Oscar ,
Thanks for stopping by
Yes – I’m afraid many do seem to add on a good chunk extra change for international shipping! – that in itself has prevented me from trying out a few marketers products.
Usually it say pay only $6 – $10 for shipping , then when you mention you’re not in the USA the shipping can jump as high as $40 extra!
And the VSA’s – I agree… I would feel totally (insert strong word for Upset) if I had bought at the page price, only to discover that I could have had it 20 or 30 bucks cheaper!!
I’ve never been to Norway – but I did once spend a week or so in the company of a bunch of your countrymen… and I’m happy to say they enjoyed their Vodka as much as I do
Here’s hoping you’ll keep popping back Oscar. And good luck in your online adventures.
Plus – if you have a site – do enter it next time you comment, as I have a ‘Do Follow’ plugin so people who comment get their google brownie points…lol
