R.I.P. Agnes Smith (nee Broisch) 13/10/33 – 10/01/11

Mother

My life has not been easy,

…….Tho’ some folks really have it rough,

On the whole I can’t complain,

…….Even if some times have been tough,

There has always been someone there for me,

…….Through the good times and the bad,

Helping me enjoy the happy times,

…….And not dwell on the sad,

Ever loving, loyal and true,

…….Steadfast and faithful like no other,

Rarely complaining of Her sacrifices,

…….She Was my unique – and wonderful Mother.

Sad you’re gone Mum…. Happy if the pain has all stopped. I do wish you could have waited to meet all the great grand kids. (hope you can see them from where you’re now at) … Love You Mum xxx

Randy (& the family)

My condolences, Randy. A mother is one of the best gifts that God had given on each one of us. Sadly, every human including our mothers have to die. Death is indeed innate on humans since we are mortals. But what is important is not really their death but their lives that was shared unto us and make us live too. Again, my condolences to you.

  3. Hi Randy,

I’m terribly sorry to hear about your mother. I know it’s very hard.

And the pain never goes away. We just get better at holding it as time goes by.

That was a beautiful poem. Know that you’re not alone. She will always be there with you.

    Take care.

Thanks for the comments guys :)

I’m still trying to get in touch with the right people (and find out who is the right people) to sort arrangements!

Which is proving difficult when we are dealing with a death in another country!!

I wish they would hurry up and reply to email and phone calls, as my family really need to know when where etc., and then how to sort personal effect like Mums photos etc. and getting them back here.

I do so hate it when others control what you can and can’t do … so frustrating!!

    Hi Randy
What can anyone say at a time like this? Mothers are special to sons more than daughters, fathers are special to daughters. I lost my father many years ago and still miss him. I have many special memories which will never fade. I am sure you have many happy memories of your Mother which will sustain you through this very sad time. Celebrate her life as I am sure she would like you to.
Thinking of you and your sad loss.

    Hi Randy,

just finished reading your fab ebook and came to check out your blog, finding this post…

    ~ My sincere condolences ~

…guess you have lots on your plate right now, I hope you can give yourself all the time that’s needed. I have no idea what it would feel like to learn your mum has gone to heaven. In any case, mums have something special about them… they tend to stick around in one’s heart for quite some time.

Sending you guys a big smile from NZ

    THNAK YOU
    for all the comments guys.

Yes it’s been a rough week.

Now we are in other peoples hands waiting for Mums personal effect to be shipped over before we can have a proper goodbye.
Once they arrive (within a couple of weeks they tell us) then we’ll have a family get together to say goodbye :(

Meanwhile I’m trying to get back to work this week, so hopefully I’ll get a new post written soon and try to move on.

I appreciate the comments and support I’ve been given, and the thoughts and sentiments, prayers etc. Regardless of Beliefs of myself, Mum or who and where in the world or what beliefs people have…
They are all helpful in getting me used to Mum not being on the end of a phone anymore….

Noew I can just close my eyes and chat to her whenever I want to, and soon they’ll stop watering and I’ll be smiling as I think of her I’m sure :(

  20. Hi Randy

Nothing that anyone says will lessen the pain right now. However, with time, we begin to see that the grief that we feel now, is the price that we pay, for having been blessed with someone extraordinary in our lives, who we loved and who truly loved us.

    Best, Theresa

I do, and my Mum died over 20 years ago. No doubt you’ll still feel her near you every now and then,
    I find that reassuring.
