Randy’s Adventures at Britpack…..Continued…
DAY Four Saturday 6th Oct
As you’ve probably gathered -
(If you’ve read Day 3)
there was no alarm waking me
from a deep slumber on sunday morning….
as I hadn’t gone to bed at all!
I wonder if I could have claimed a refund on not using the bed?
(Sorry – that’s the yorkshireman in me…lol)
So there I was at breakfast enjoying a hearty meal again, This
time making sure I had a good few cups of strong coffee.
Then off to mingle with the smokers until the seminar commenced
at 9.30.
I do remember having a great chat with Sally Neill at some point
sunday morning, what a lovely Scottish Lady she is. Also arranged
to catch up with Alex Jeffreys later that day and we had a group photo
of Alex, His other half – Katie, Graham, Sally and myself -
so I’m sure that will be floating around the net before long
The first speaker was Martin Avis….
what a lovely guy he comes over as!
I don’t think I’m breaking any rules in mentioning his memonic….
P.R.O.S.E.
A very good method to remember of how to market to your
subscribers…
It stands for-
Personal
Real
Often
Solo
Ethical
And from all the people there who told me they subscribe to his newsletter
that seems to be exactly how he operates.
It’s nice to hear others talking about genuine people – so we don’t think
they are all some faceless ‘gurus’.
I must admit – that is one of the biggest things I came away from Britpack
having learnt……
Not all Guru’s are Guru’s !
Many are just experts who have built up great businesses, and possibly find it
difficult to maintain one on one relationships with many of their subscribers…
But that doesn’t mean they are not still just ‘Normal Everyday People’ just
like the rest of us…. they’ve just had more experience and more success than
many of us.
(There are still some I don’t respect, and I’ll still be telling it straight if I think
any are trying to rip off my subscribers!!)
Anyway … back to the day…
During coffee I chatted some more to Alex and the EPA guys, and arranged
to do a video testimonial with Alex for a new launch he is planning at some
point in the future. (I’d spent a month beta testing it for him)
Then it was baqck in for Nathan Andersons talk on SEO
(Search Engine Optimization)
That guy really knows his stuff – but if you’ve been with me for any
length of time, you’ll know I am NO techy…. and to be honest…..
I think the lack of sleep was catching up on me….. (embarrassed smile)
If John Reed, sitting next to me hadn’t kept swinging his feet into my legs,
…. well actually, I’m sure I’ve seen a post from Sally Neill somewhere -
claiming that as she sat behind me – she found it amusing to see me
start to nod off….lol
Cue lunch break!
Straight out to smokers corner for some fresh air to keep me awake,
and yet more interesting chats with what turned out to be an amazing set
of people….
And then back in to have a look at some new software being
demonstrated by Debbie Figg…
Debbie will be releasing her software early December, and trust me -
I will be promoting it.
Again, I have to emphasize that I don’t understand most of how it works…lol
But seeing how impressed all the techies were – was proof enough that it
is a really good bit of kit!
Top that with the fact that it’s a $600 buy, and I’ll be able to get in on the launch
and let my list grab it for a bargain price!
… and it’s blatantly obvious why I’d help out – (Well you know I love a bargain -
and if it’s quality AND a ridiculous price….lol)
After lunch it was ‘Hot Seat’ time again.…
Todays Victim (I mean Volunteer) was Andrew Stark…. hehe
Andrew showed his page for $7 Expert, whch I’ve since promoted
(use the search box at the top of the blog if you want to see it…)
He actual didn’t face much critique at all (Lucky Barsteward…haha)
Actually – it’s just as well as he is such a quite spoken gent, I’m sure
he would have just taken it and not uttered a word.
Last up to speak before the closing speeches was Tim Broklehurst.
Tim gave a fascinating talk about viral list building and his software
that helps accomplish it.
I’m sure had he pitched just the software nearly everyone would have
bought, – it really was such a good talk.
I’m not going ot go into all the details,
(again – you’ll have to be there next time…lol) But if you come across
him or his software – it would be worth investing… I don’t have an
active link to hand, but if anyone contacts me throught my support desk
I’ll happily dig around and find mine….
Finally we had the closing speeches, even Robert Puddy started to
get emotional.
It’s amazing how well people get to bond and how much can be learned
from spending a few days in the company of so many positive people.
After that was all wrapped up I had another chat with a few people I’d met
I did a video testimonial for Richard Butler (I’ve since sent him a written
one – I was so tired it must have looked awful)
Then I went and had a good chat to Alex Jeffreys – and sorted a video
testimonial for his forth coming project. (actually next but one I believe – He’s
like the duracell bunny…he just keeps going..lol)
With a few more goodbyes and a few more cards exchanged… it was time
to set off home.
Thankfully John was driving as far as York, which gave me sufficient time to
relax and let my body grab a few minutes of shut eye, before driving the
final hour back to Northallerton.
Since then I’ve spent the last 4 weeks emailing people and arranging
JV’s for current and future projects.
And obviously – it’s taken me just over a month to find time to chronicle
my 4 days at the event.
Was it worth going?……
An Emphatic YES....
Will I be attending next year ?
I’ve Already Bought and Paid for my ticket!
I have to admit – I’ve read countless times that we should try and get
to seminars, but frankly – with the costs involved…..
I can understand why so many don’t.
But now I will be one of the people adding my voice in support of them….
If you are serious about becoming full time in internet marketing…..
and if you can stretch yourself to the cost of tickets and hotels…
Then I can hand on heart say – it will be more than good for your long
term success if you attend.
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading my Ramblings about my Britpack Adventures.
I know I’ve made some friends, and increased my business reach from
going….. plus I now ‘know’ some of the people whose lists I’m on.
I seriously have nothing but positives from my investment.
I apologise if I didn’t detail too much info…. but that wasn’t the objective
in writing this up.
I do however hope I’ve given a taste of seminar life – and how it can be a
really good investment of time in growing your business.
So that’s it for this series.
As ever – - Here’s hoping you’re
Loving Life, Living it with Passion, And Passing it on!
Til next time

Hi!Randy,
What a wonderful experience! I wish I was there. Although the people you mentioned I don’t know at all, I believe some of them I can learn from their experience and knowledge. It’s definitely worth to go there meeting people and establish the networking which is helpful for the business. Please tell us more in details if you have time. Cheers!!
